About John Petsco

John Petsco-president Long Island Creative Contracting

John is the owner and creative mind behind LICC, Inc. Long Island's premiere home remodeler and contractor.

Born and raised in Port Jefferson, he now resides in Miller Place with his wife Melissa, a pig, a goat, three dogs, several chickens, two turkeys, a bunch of quail, innumerable Koi fish, and a few turtles in a home he designed and built for them in Miller Place, NY aka The Petsco Resort and Farm.

John's father was a concrete contractor and builder, and he grew up learning the ins and the outs of the business, what works and what doesn’t. After enlisting in the US Navy, he returned to the world of construction as a project manager developing apartment buildings and hotels.

Every Cloud has a Silver Lining

In 2008 the Great Recession arrived, and John found himself without a job.  Vowing never to work for someone other than himself again, he slapped a sticker on the side of his Honda Element that said "JP The Handyman" and went right to work, sowing the seeds for what would become Long Island Creative Contracting, Inc.

As the business grew, he surrounded himself with a talented and trusted group of employees, several of whom remain part of the team over a decade later. They took on their first bathroom remodel, then their first kitchen remodel, and kept garnering more clients via word of mouth due to their excellent work and the relationships John and his team were building with their clients. John found himself able to step back from the daily grind and rediscovered his passion for the creative parts of contracting and remodeling. When not working with an architect on a project, John designs using the latest in 3D software to create stunning visual plans and presentations.

Let Your Life Proceed by its Own Design

He has always been an artist, self publishing a book, and painting large format paintings of his animals, including his beloved chihuahua Palmito aka Bobo -  Ask him to tell you the story of how Palmito joined the family - you won't regret it! - and as the company grew and became more successful, he was able to marry that creativity with his mind for business and construction and really bring the word "Creative" in Long Island Creative Contracting to the forefront.

John is nothing if not a people person, always looking out for his friends and family, always ready to crack open another bottle of wine by the fire pit, and whip up a dinner from whatever leftovers he may find in the kitchen - or grill up a steak from one of his frequent trips to Vermont, where he and his wife spend time with friends, and ski, and never miss a visit to the Grafton Cheese Factory. He cares about his work and his clients, with a strong view to coming in on time and on budget on every job, and puts his whole being into each project, whether it be a small remodel or a full home design. You will get a thoughtful approach to solve whatever problem you bring his way, a gorgeous space to show off when the job is completed, and a new friend.

"When I created Long Island Creative Contracting, my dream was to create a remodeling company that was different then the rest, one that was not only built on superior craftsmanship but honestly and integrity. And in return I've had the honor of working with incredible clients, many that I now consider friends. Thank you to all that have supported us throughout the years"
